On arriving at the test center take a seat in the waiting room until an examiner calls your name. They will ask to see both parts of your licence which you must have with you otherwise you won't be allowed to take the test. Next you'll be asked to sign the top of the report form. This is to verify that the vehicle your using is insured. On the way to the vehicle you will be asked to perform an eyesight test by reading the number plate of a parked vehicle approximately 20 metres away. You must pass this to continue. Next, on reaching the vehicle you will be asked two questions on basic car maintenance, these are not technical and your instructor will ensure you know them. More information can be found on these questions using the more information link at the end of the page. The duration of the test is about 40 minutes in which the examiner will give you directions to follow. Up to 15 minor faults are allowed but 1 serious or dangerous fault is a fail. The examiner will not give you feedback during the test. Only once the test is completed will you get feedback along with the result. You will be asked to do two out of three set exercises during your test.
